last row of tile – inside walk in cooler
The last row of 4 inch tile was broke out just inside a walk in cooler. We were doing several jobs in the one week-per-year this popular resturant closes down for maintenance, cash register upgrades, painting, etc.
It was fairly cold inside (can’t remember what the thermostat said) but we had two days before the suppliers were rolling the hand trucks over the tile – this row of tile had to “set up” inside the cooler. It was critical because it was involved in the seal of the door.
The reason I waited until now to tell this was to see if it held: after scratching the floor with a diamond blade I set the tile with thinset. The next day I colored “Bondo” slightly with oil based artist color, masked the tile with duct tape, and grouted the tile with the “Bondo”.
The “grout” color matched pretty well and they held.

The awful thing is that beauty is mysterious as well as terrible. God and the devil are fighting there, and the battlefield is the heart of man.
