I would like to level an old cement basement floor that is sloped about 3″ over 25′. I have a local mix-on-site cement supplier who uses 1/2″ aggragate. I am wondering if I would be creating a durable trouble free floor if I:
1)cleaned the old floor well;
2)applied a bonding agent to the old cement;
3) poured 4000psi mix with fiber admix. with a minimum thickness of 1″ over the old floor and finish as any other slab.
Do I need wire mesh as well? Is this going to crack and flake off?
Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Have you considered Gypcrete. It is lightweight (not that it needs to be) and self-leveling. It is also mixed on site.
