In remodeling our 1960 house, we closed in a sunporch which was water damaged. We now have a solid structure but have an uneven floor. The area is 14 foot long by 5.5 foot wide, the floor joists run widthwise. In 5.5 feet I have a 1.5 inch rise in the floor. What is the best way to lay the floor. It will eventually be covered with carpet.
Thanks!

if the house floor is higher than the porch: cut sleepers from _ to_ which when you put 3/4 on them you finish out at the same level as the house floor....b/4 carpet. the sleepers will be cut on a taper to make up the out of level porch floor.
if the house floor is the same heigth as the porch floor you'll have to sleeper it close, still be able to add ply to top of them, and then float Dependable to the house floor level. best of luck to ya.
