I know this isn’t a housewife forum, but we often end up dealing with housewife issues when we’d rather be doing something else. So, does anybody have any experience with the European brand LG in combination washer/dryer? My wife thinks it’d be great upstairs instead of the basement laundry, and it takes up little room, being an all in one device. It uses what’s apparently a slow drying process — condensation — which drains the moisture down the normal drain line. Upstairs, could the high velocity spin be a problem? Plumbing is an issue, but dealable. We’re empty nesters, so washing isn’t what is was with a full house. Also, the nearest LG service is eighty miles away. Your thoughts? Should I look at a more conventional brand, even if they don’t have the combination washer/dryers?
When I was an Air Force brat in the early sixties, we lived on an air base, and the quarters had a combination front loader washer/dryer, so it isn’t a new concept. I remember my mother hated that it leaked onto the floor. I wouldn’t know the brand, since teeners didn’t notice such things, and Mom isn’t available to ask. Just trivia.

The condensing style dryer is expensive to operate -- think of a dehumidifier.
If you put the washer upstairs, be sure to put a pan under it, connected to a drain.
" European brand LG "
FWIW LG is Korean.
