Why YUK.
What bulbs are you using. That can make a big difference.
I have one and just painted the insides white.
It is best that you don't line it with reflecting material unless you use something that has a smooth, regular curve to it. Other wise you will get hot spots.
DOn't know what to suggest for construction. In my case the strip units where mounted to the wall A cleat was along the bottom.
The valance is just two 12 ft long pieces attached in an L shape. And two square pieces on the end.
Since only one edge of the bottom is attached to the cleat and a little support with the two end peices it needed more support. blocking could have been put between the strip fixtures.
But instead I used some eye screws in the studs and matching one in the top of the valance. And used SS aircraft safety wire to tie them together. Using that I got more tie point and the small area does not block any light.
BUT WARN THE CLIENT THAT IT WILL SHOW UP ANY DEFECTS IN THE DW INCLUDING ANY SEAMS.

Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
