He won- I should say his group won. Three of them split five hundred bucks. But he drove the bus.
Coming to a neighborhood somewhere sometime soon a Beazer home designed by Logan and his band of merrymen. Ranch home- 1800square feet.He is a freak Cal. Get this- number one in his class as in valivictorian- where did that come from? (I can't even spell smartest guy in class)
two congressmen wrote letters for him to get in the Naval Academy- not so fast- he is going to Stanford...or MIT... or Northwestern...or Purdue...Or Cal Poly Tech... cause he has been accepted each of those places. And that little boy is now six two two hundred and ten pounds and being recruited by some smaller universities to play footballI kinda feel bad for himNo Tag

If they had anchored a cable across on both sides, where the blue line is...

And had let him actually attach the bridge to both of those abutments, at the red arrows...
I think that bridge would have withstood -=much=- more weight.
Yeah, it may be cold, but at least it's a wet cold !
me too.
he asked me how much I thought and I figured several hundred pounds before the wood fibers started to tear apart. If the abutments would have remained static I'm guessing three hundred pounds or more. It is hard to see but that bridge is only two inches wide so stabilizing lateral forces was huge.he did a good joball i did was provide shop space and tools- he glued up those bottom trusses maybe five times until he got them right- i don't know whose kid he is but i'll keep him until the milkman comesNo Tag
Hey, that's really great - how old is he?

I saw the type of glue you chose and I was wondering....
While you are building it, can you coat the wooden pieces with glue to add strength to the design?
Nice job!! Bill
If I understand your question correctly no he was not allowed to coat the pieces with glue- only on the edges that were to mate. With Gorilla glue, easier said than done. After the arches were glued up and set he sanded off the excess glue on the arches. Then he mortised each and every cross brace into the arched girder and bridge deck beam. and then cleaned up the glue.No Tag
WOW, quite project. Good for him and for you !
