Has anyone ever had the experience of coming home to discover that someone mistakenly powerwashed your house? While I believe anyone can make a mistake, when the siding starts to come apart maybe they should double check what they are doing! Also, does anyone know what the law is about something like this, i.e. fix what they damaged. I live in NH. Thanks for any assistance.

You probably need to talk to a lawyer.
What kind of siding?
Do you really want those bozos "fixing" what they apparently didn't realize they were breaking?
Get pictures ASAP. Get estimates from some siding contratcors, then get a cashiers check for the full amount from the fool who did this. If he won't, get the lawyer.
Bob,
Thanks for the info. Pictures have been taken, and it is wood side btw. Thanks again.
Waj- can you post some pics?
Half of good living is staying out of bad situations.
Rez,
I don't have them developed yet.
You have a civil claim for both trespass and negligence and are entitled to recover any resulting damages.i.e. repair costs. You should get a repair estimate and submit it to them. Hopefully they have liability insurance which will cover the claim. If not, you can easility get a small claims judgement representing yourself, although collecting is a different story. Cheer up, it could be worse, like the oil delivery to the wrong house. Unfortunately the homeowmer had converted to gas and the fill pipe wasn't connected to anything. 250 gallons of oil in the basement makes quite a mess!
I know of a drywall crew that drywalled the wrong house before their insulation inspection.
wa,
I think I would also call my homeowners insurance company and see what they have to say about it. Might be covered if the "bozo's" wont pay up for the repairs.
Mr. B,
Calling the head "bozo" today. We'll see what they say. Thanks for the ideas.
A tenant emailed us to ask why we had had tack strip installed for carpeting without first notifying him or following through with the carpet installation.
Apparently a carpet installer went to our house by mistake and got the tack strip nailed down before he figured out his mistake and left. It made a bit of a mess of the hardwood floors but it sounds like we got off easy compared to the pressure washer damage.
Most people in the neighborhood don't worry to much about locking up when they are gone.
