I’m having difficulty getting the dust from my Compound Slide Miter Saw. The little port on my Dewalt does not come close to getting most of it. Seems to me I saw a design about a year back in the magazine, but now of course I can’t find it. Any suggestions?

You have to make a port to suck up the chips exiting the back of the blade as it rises out of the table slot. Then you also must collect the port on the upper guard. Two separate hoses. I did this on my old Hitachi C8FB, with great results. I plan to do my DW 708 this year.

Thanks for the links. I got some good ideas. I just bought a DC on Ebay. When it gets here I'll play with it. I think doing a big box, and if the box or gulp needs help I'll y it to the little duct on my Dewalt. I was so amazed at how usless the Dewalt connection was with my shop vac.
Now after looking at those ideas and photos, I'm guessing my vac just clogged up the poor little factory intake. So, if even with good suction it does not work, I wonder why they bothered?
If I get it to work right with the bigger hood behind the machine I'll let you know. Since I'm in a basement, I've got to try.
