We have a contemporary design home with plywood siding with vertical lines to resemble plank siding. The overhangs are almost nonexistent and I don’t want to repaint. What I’ve seen in vinyl just does not appeal to me. What other options do I have to convert to a maintenance free siding?

Hey Rick,
I couldn't get your attachment to open.
Some thoughts: Hardi does vertical siding (I think), I have not used it yet. If you want to keep the vertical look.
Have you seen the shake style vinyl? I did a contemporary last year that combined regular woodgrained vinyl and shakes separated by cedar 1x8's. It was a nice look, definitely the most tasteful vinyl I've ever seen.
Email me if you're interested in finding out more about this.

*Rick, There is a Japanese company that makes some very interesting siding. It is a cement based product. It is available in a number of styles. The name eludes me right now. We just completed an ICF basement for a timber frame SIP combination building. They intend to use this siding product. The style looks like blocks of granite. I'll post a picture as soon as it is installed on the building(about 30 days from now). In the mean time I'll get the name and the web address for this company to pass on to you.
