I have a 2year old frigidaire nat gas dryer and I am moving into a new house that has propane. I bought the lp conversion kit specified in my owners manual and plan to convert the dryer this weekend. The instructions that came with the kit are brief, to say the least. Is installing the new burner, orifice etc, particularly tricky? Is there anything I should be aware of?
Thanks,
Tony

That's one I sub to the service techs, but as i remember, it is mostly just twist on eoff and twist the other on, but the thread dope is a specific kind for gas connections, not normal teflon or dope on the threads

That's why I only carry Rectorseal #5. Good for anything (galvanized steel, iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, polyethylene, reinforced fiberglass, and PVC). But DO NOT use on ABS.
Good for hot potable, cold potable, compressed air, propane, NG, helium, freons, steam, diesel, leaded gasoline, unleaded gasoline, gasahol, etc - all of which I've used it for.) Not recommended for oxygen. It's my wife who works at the hospital, I don't, so I never need anything else. It also is a quick check of the seriousness of a plumbing supply house. Thanks,
Adjustable wrench, or adjustable burner?
One other thing, The "instructions" if theay can be called that, do say the gas pressure must be 7-10". Is that something I need to be particularly worried about, or is that standard pressure for a house. The furnace and water heater also run on propane.
btw, nice signature.

Let the gas supplier handle that.... it's a setting on the low side regulator...
toom much and ya get a wooshing sound in yur burners... too low and ya get poor preformance and a squeal / whistle sound...
Both items are dangerous....
even if ya get charged it is money well spent...
thanks on the signiture...

One of the things that I would recommend is have your local propane company come out and do it for you. I have lived in a few homes ( the last one a rental) where the appliances were retrofited for propane but the burners were not adjusted properly, if at all. We now use Ferrell Gas and they do this part for free, but this may not be the case everywhere. Our biggest problem was the stove/range where the 4 burners had not been adjusted correctly and the there was not a low setting. We figured that it was a cheap stove(and it was) with nothing but med to high, no simmer/low setting.
In what part of the country do you live? I am in Greenbush, WI (between Green Bay and Milwaukee) and we have ferrelgas too.
Pacific Northwest.
Another thing to consider is to buy your own tank, that way you can anybody fill it and the price is alot cheaper. Even the tech guy from ferrell reccomended it.
Ferrell Gas is a large company that has bought up a number of distributors all over the country. They are based in the Kansas City area.No connection, just see the anouncements in the busienss section.
Not free here, but the cost is minimal considering the peace of mind it buys
