I live on an island off the coast of southern Jersey. I often come across odd sized doors that need to be replaced. Since the elements here are pretty rough, I like to used fiberglass replacement doors. Mostly Thermatru.
The majority of cases I come across are short doors. Most have to be cut down to a 6/4 height which is no problem. The local millwork shop that distributes Thermatru has no problem making this cut.
What I have come across now is a narrow door situation. The customer has a 2/2 6/4 entry door which needs replacing. I have checked a number of local distributors and no one can come up with a solution, other than a plain slab birch door which is really not an option on a remodeled beach front bungalow.
Any ideas or resources for custom sized fiberglass doors beyond the what I have come across? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

A 2/2 entry door? Does that meet code there? How do they get the furniture in? - lol
If it's a double door setup, you may need to go to a 3/0 door with a sidelight.
Be careful with Delmarva Sash & Door and Thermatru.
I live in Delaware and have seen and experienced quality and customer service issues with these people.
If you decide to use them be very wary of the width of the head jam and threshold ( not being the same length) same with the side jams. Also look at the strike / lockset alignment and hinge mortises..
It was an expensive lesson and I still get pissed when I see that door.
Best of luck, Bill
I worked as a millwork supervisor at Home Depot for a while - we got some requests for narrow height/width doors (inner city rowhomes) - Thermatru is who we used. One of their major suppliers on the east coast is Reeb Millwork/Delmarva Sash & Door - you might want to contact them. They have regional shops that can do custom work. Also, the local millwork shop should have some experience with odd size product, if not making themselves then a good referral to a regional shop. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.
