Hi,
I know almost everyone will tell me to tear this down and start over but I need a fix for at least the winter and maybe a few years. I would also not like to spend too much on the repair as it will be torn down probably within the next five years or so.
Here’s the situation: We have a house that was built in 1941 in Seattle. It has a rear porch stoop that was built into a slight hill. The stoop sits on top of a small storage room (approx 6 x 12). At some point – probably the 60s or early 70s, the stoop was extended and converted into a deck. The deck is constructed of 2x10s with a plywood deck surface. (not of it PT) The plywood deck surface was then covered with a lovely green rubberized fabric. I haven’t really seen this before but it brings to mind what you might have seen around on an old above ground pool surface. This fabric has failed in several places. I’ve already repaired any rotted wood with PT plywood and beams. I’ve also tried Grace Vycor as a substitute but it doesnt seem to seal well enough. Any thoughts as to what might be a good inexpensive alternative? Does anyone have experience with Ames Safe T Deck?
Thanks,
John

Google "EPDM". It's like inner-tube material, only flat. You can probably get a piece to cover your deck without any seams.
