Hi all
This is just to satisfy my couriosity. We stripped a very old roof this past week the house is over 150 and the shingles looked like 3 tab but when we stripped it they were single tab 12x 12 inchesI have never seen this kind before I am just trying to see if anyone might have seen them or mught guess the age

I have never laid them, but did tear some off like that in the seventies . They had been laid in the forties.

Bet that house from the original poster had huge trees that shaded the roof all day long.

Thanks for the input at least some one else has seen them and that side of the house is fairely protected

my parents house had those on when we moved in (1954)
there were a couple bundles still in the attic from when the house was built in 1927
very thick shingles , large granules
i think we reroofed it in about '79... so they got 50 years out of them
