so where to you buy your tools on-line?
I alwys liked tool crib but now they’re Amazon.
and they’re starting to tick me off.
place on order for someing that usually ships in 24hrs, indicates its available, and ship date estimate is 2 weeks after I place the order.
I know having a good tool store etc, but as a HO I don’t buy that ofeten to create a relationship.

Honestly, I try to buy most tools locally. The ticket price at a tool supplier is just there for looks. Once you deal with them a few times, their price becomes competitive with online stores.
My local tool supplier doesn't stock any Bosch, so I've ordered most of my Bosch stuff from amazon, without problems.
I also use http://www.contractorstools.com if you call them you can actually talk to the same person everytime.
Actually when I was going to buy a PC belt sander Amazon was way more money than my local HD.
I always check Ebay first.
Amazed me to see people bidding on that same belt sander I got for $229 at HD for way more than it was worth ...the last I looked on ebay the bid was over $255 and it was used. $20 shipping on top of that too.

in my current case I'm buying a table saw stand. bosch's.I was going to get the Ridgid, but all the HDs I went to didn't carry just the stand.Sometimes I do a search, but that can also be a pain.my last purchase was a ROS, which was th4 Ridgid, but that was because I liked the feel vs the PC, which was my other choice.

Bob,
I hope you are getting the Bosch folding wheel away stand. I have the table saw and stand combo, it is what sold me on the saw. One level locks and unlocks the whole folding operation, super easy to set up or move. Pneumatic 8" tires roll over pretty much any terrain. The saw is good too, but the stand is stellar. It also comes pre-drilled for Makita and De Walt saws.

Bob,
I have gotten tons of tools from Amazon. Even if you are used to a shorter shipping policy, their customer service has been phenomenal, and only once did my order take longer, usually Im amazed that its about a week early.

bobstools - only a couple of orders, did just fine
sevencorners. They ought to win some kind of service award. Man I ordered the stuff and it was on my doorstep like 2 days later. That never happens.
Festool. I know. But I bleed black and green anymore. Service there is extremely efficient. I keep one of the gals email addys in storage and when i need somethin I drop an email, it gets sent, my card gets billed, end of story. No muss, no fuss. I love it. AND WHAT TOYS!!!

Just saw something the other day stating that 7 Corners Hardware is now "stocking" Festool products. Anywhere else I have ever seen, you had to order everything and wait for it to ship.
Guess this might not make a very big difference for you in Nebraska, but, if I suddenly come into a large sum of money - I could walk in to 7 Corners and walk out with some black and green.
- I could walk in to 7 Corners---Dang--your that close?Did you get your mailer?Ya going? Gonna catch up to my favorite Bosch reps and see whats coming up for them--Walk the lots--work the store--look at a new set of toolbags--for the third year--I just can't seem to let them go--guess they are going to have to literaly fall off before I can commit to a new set--like an old friendMike" I reject your reality and substitute my own"

Well, I still drive over to the parking lot - but I walk into the store. No drive thru yet.
Did you get your mailer?
Yes
Ya going?
Maybe. Really depends on how my week is. I think they used to have better "show specials" now it seems like it is usually only 5% off. Although I got a pretty decent price on the Bosch 18 volt 5 piece set and a planer and extra battery last year on the last day of the show. I usually don't plan it in advance any more - just run over there if I free up some time one day. I'll shoot you an e-mail from here if I deciede in the next couple days. I really should go and try to get the Bosch guys to replace my charger that quit working after only being used a dozen or so times.

I hear ya on the bags - hard change from a set that is so familiar.
Enjoy the show! If you know when you are going for sure, send me an e-mail - maybe I could meet you there.

Just managed to find this thread again.
Yes, I did put the catfish line in my chalk box.
Works great - thanks.
How was your trip to the show? Pick up any deals?
I meant to go and spaced it. Really wanted to talk to the Bosch guys about getting another charger from them. Mine fried out after very little use. Called thier service line and was told that based on the serial number of my charger, it had been manufacted more than a year ago, so no warranty without receipt. Still can't find the receipt. I bought it one year ago now - at the Seven Corners Show. Oh well more than you needed to know.
Thanks again for the line,
Shoe
the show was nice--Upper level for power tools and lower for the handtool and nailer guys---Across the board 5%---I like the show to see what is new and coming---Besides they have boards to cut and screws to drive which ya can't do inside with the reg. display---Did pick up this killer bit and screw holder--mean maganet and sleeve--saw it and knew I was leaving with one--perfect for when ya gotta reach into an upper with out haveing the screw fall off.Saw Paslode, Senco about a new 18 ga. (Christmas idea for me)Glad the line works for ya--If you need more I found the reel when I sent you it and I could give you the maker--Hey later this week I am somewhat open--You still doing that Edina job? catch up to you later,Mike" I reject your reality and substitute my own"

Yea Amazon doesn't seem so pleasent anymore. I still use them, but the newness is wearing off. Medford tools is pretty good. They're my second choice.
