What do you guys think about using OSB panels as an underlayment to backerboard for tiling. I have a raised foundation home which requires additional panels on the floor to give it some stiffness. I’ve looked at exterior plywood panels at my local home ctr and they all seem to be very warped–not to mention very pricey. Or Should I just stick to using half inch backerboard on top of the original subfloor which is 3/4 thick. I’ve read that theres a 5/8 backerboard out there, anyone know where I can find it? Thank you for the advice.

Hey bono (you do your own tile work -- the whole band gig thing not working out?),
here are the TCA guidelines which discuss OSB and subfloor.

Your subfloor should get some more beef. Assuming 16" OC joists, you need at least another 1/2" of plywood. Also, make sure your joists don't exceed the deflection guidelines (don't mean measure it -- use deflection tables).
