I’ve been attempting to locate some various styles of outdoor fireplace plans but have not had any luck at all!
Does anyone know of a website(s) that has either plans or pictures?

Listeners write in about haunted pipes and building-science tomes, and they ask questions about roof venting and roof leaks.

I know of neither but have lived and worked around a few. Neglected, crumbling pcs of history. You talking a fire pit or a cooking or visual fireplace? You might want to get in touch with a metro, state, or fed. park service. Do pay attention to building it with the elements in mind. best of luck

Thanks for the replys guys!
Calvin, yes I guess I do mean a fire pit but much more refined. I live in Maine and they are OK code wise and the design does need approval by authorities (Fire department).
My Grandparents had a crude fire pit which was basically stones stacked up on 3 sides about 2 1/2 ft high. I want something masonary, either brick or river rock. My home is a small bungalow style house with a good sized back yard...reiterating I live in Maine and cool nights are more the norm than the exception and the love of being outdoors...this project would make a very nice addition to the home!
David...I did happen upon the Heatilator site but that wouldnt meet my needs. If you happen along any more sites please let me know!
Thanks again!
*I have been reading a book by Jim Tolpin called "The New Family Home"and on page 45 there is an incredible outdoor fireplace. It's river rock and is very nice looking. I made note of it myself to try and incorporate one in some future home. Nothing like sit-in outside around a fire on a cool night.

there are also some cool freestanding metal fireplaces, that can be moved around. Legs, firebox, and flume, the whole thing around six feet tall or so.
Don't think you can roast on them, though.
*This is an easy one:Get yourself a used truck wheel rim, set it atop a pair of horizontally placed non-combustibles(I use two rail links(not ties)discarded by the railroad), cut some bar stock(I used that stuff used to stretch/attach chain link fence to the posts)to sit onto the shoulders on the ID of the rim, place some half-inch hardware cloth atop these supports, and there ya go....you've just created a venturi. Oh yeah, don't forget to bring a guitar.Brian
