I’m building a lake cottage primarily for use in the summer here in NE Indiana. I’m considering using waht’s called a “package unit” for heat and a/c. The unit is all-in-one and sits outside the house with only a supply and return duct through the wall connected to the internal ductwork.
Has anyone had experience with this type of unit?

Dave:
Here in NC, what we call gas packs, are very popular - I have one at my house - sounds like what you are describing, except that I don't know what your fuel will be. The gas pack works fine for us. Gotta wonder how it would work with 3 feet of snow on it though???
