Hello All,
I’m looking for a pan flashing detail for aluminum window with nailing flange, that exits over the exterior finish. How does one accomplish this without the bottom flange exposed?
Thanks

What is the exterior finish?
Most of the time, the exterior finish has a drainage plane behind it and that is what the pan flashing would exit over.

Rich,
Exterior is stucco. What do you mean "drainage plane behind finish"?
The drainage plane is what is behind the siding material to stop whatever water makes it past the siding and direct to the bottom of the wall and out.I know that the drainage plane is needed behind wood, vinyl, and brick. I'm pretty sure there is one behind stucco too.I'm not sure about EIFS (i.e. sto)Are you sure you have stucco and not EIFS?

Check this out. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for?

CM,
Yes and no. This is similar to your std. metal pan with vertical upstands at jambs...ok and have done this but this drains over paper/tyvek/WHY..not out over the finish. I have seen (a lot, recently) the metal pan over exterior finish ie. coming out right below the bottom of the frame but appears to only come out from the outside of the nail flange.
Am I missing something?
