The connection between the wand and the vacuum hose of my PC drywall sander will not stay connected.
I purchased a new hose end from PC. It is as loose as the original.
Duct (or ‘duck’, your choice) is not a solution because the hose needs to rotate around this connection.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

why not use the duct tape to "fatten" the OD of the fitting so that both fit snuggly?

Pete,
Thx for the thought. I tried that with electrical tape. The threaded coller must fit over the 'fattened' portion. So the tolerance is close. No room to unroll the tape with the collar in place, so the build up diameter is not forgiving.
It lasted about 10 minutes.

Why should he have to do that?
I always hate having to jury rig "quality" tools to make them work right.
Could you have lost a piece inside the "slip joint"? Mine's several years old with lotssss of mileage and still fits and works great.
I'm wondering the same thing. Theres the threaded cap, the hose end, and the ring looking washer thing. If you're missing the washer it'd never stay together. You missing that?Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
RW,
I looked again at the parts schematic. The washer you reference is missing.
Yet another chapter in the book about not loaning tools.
Thank you for the suggestion.
The washer is on order.

You can use a rubber washer from a metal j pipe plumbing drain fitting - works great for mine and only cost about $.40.JT
