Ok,
After looking at about a gazillion samples of flooring, I brought a bunch home and let the dog and cat walk around on them.
None fared very well so I decided to look at a laminate. I’ve found some Pergo I like but have never worked with the stuff before.
Here is the big question.
I just pulled the carpet out of one of the rooms in question. turns out, there is a fairly large hump in the floor. I didn’t notice it until the carpet was up.
SO, how much will Pergo conform to a floor? For a ton of reasons leveling the floor isn’t an option. Not even with a leveling compound.
If PErgo is a no-go, Will any of the glue down engineered floors work?
I’m talking about 5/16’s to 3/8’s.
Am I stuck with carpet?

IRL, not sure how much Pergo will conform. But there website (http://www.pergo.com) has an installation PDF - see: http://www.pergo.com/US_Installation_FAQ.aspx and in sections 7-9, talks about the maximum difference between 2 adjacent high points and an intermediate low, being 3/16" in a 10FT radius... and subfloor should have no more slope than 1" in 6'.

Thanks,
I found the site and PDF's as well. Downloaded them and read every word. Doesn't look good.
Guess I was hoping to hear something different even if I did know better.
Looks like carpet it is.
