Can anyone provide advice on using, or not using, plastic lumber for a deck I am planning on building. I live in Colorado where the air is dry and the sun intense. My fear with redwood, or any other wood, is there will need to be frequent maintenance sealing due to the climate. I have heard of some of the downsides to plastic lumber in humid areas which should not be a problem in CO. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Plastic decking is heavier than redwood decking,so your joist spacing,depth,and span needs to be adressed.

Douglas;
Check out the archives and/or building materials for TREX. There is a ton of info/postings already. Other types of non-wood are also included.
