Can anyone recommend books, software or websites that I can get some good plans/advice on building porches, pergolas, gazebos, trellis, etc.? I’m a novice and have no idea where to go. Thanks!

Gazebos, Janet and Richard Strombeck - you can order plans (well, at least you could, I guess you still can) from the publisher if you like one of the 50+ Gazebos in the book.
Also has a few arbors, birdhouses, etc.
*Run off to home Depot. They have a large selection of books on everything. Chances are pretty good they have what you need too.Pete Draganic
*I just had a neighbor tell me that they thought they saw a book that Home Depot themselves put out on just this subject. I'm going there today. Hopefully everyone is traveling and I'll have the place to myself. One can only hope!Phil, thanks for the name of the book.
*One of the BT posters has a business that supplies designs and plans such as you desire. Check out Lawrence.http://www.gardenstructure.com
*Kathleen - You might enjoy the following:b Gazebos and Trellises - Authentic Details for Design and Restoration by Peter Joel Harrison, publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. ISBN 0-471-32198-2 1999.A fellow (former) northern VirginianJeff
*Great! Thanks, guys. I'm having a blast researching on this subject. I'll have to see if Mr. Harrison is in the book. I've decided to go with a pro.
*Ya know, it just hit me that "former" may mean deceased?!?
*The fellow Northern Virginian (Fairfax) is ME, not Harrison. Last time I checked I wasn't dead (although opinions vary).
*Well that's good to know! Sorry for the mistake!
