I am starting a bathroom job with a custom shower stall. Since we have some flexibility as to the size of the shower footprint ,I am looking for an alternative to lining the pan with the standard PVC pan liner . I am not convinced that it has the advertised life span ( on good information from plumbers I,be used in the past) and have found it difficult to install properly. Somewhere in the last year or so I saw reference to a company that makes a preformed pan, in a variety of sizes, that is made to be tiled. It has the requisite slope to the drain and curbing. Unfortunately I can’t find the original reference . Calling around the Atlanta, GA. area no one seems to have heard of such a thing. Has anyone used such a product, and if so I would be interested in your experience with it. I am also interested in opinions on the best way to work with flexible pan material ( since it is unavoidable in many cases) and whether anyone else has seen it deteriorate prematurely.
