i have some the siding matrix ” Slicker” going on a wall over diagonal 4/4 x 6 ” sheathing , than 30# felt. the finish wall application will be horizontal T & G ,4/4 x 6″ mahogany , painted all 6 sides with oil paint. i want to put slicker on the wall, for circulation and drainage for any moisture build-up. my question is i believe the ” Slicker” is around 1/4″, what can i expect it to be after it being compressed behind the horiz. T&G. i need this number to add into the thickness of my window and door casing when i run it through the william & hussey or maybe fudge the width if the toe of the casing gets to thick. thanks for any help……. slainte’ and a good labor day to all….. alias

depends how hard you drive your nails. About an eighth inch typical for us.
I'm glad you have prepainted. T&G is terrible exterior siding IMO

thank you paul. i agree... the subject of the t&g was ruminated on quite abit . but for historic restoration, the original application must remain. there's a thread i have been playing around in my head, something in the line when does design flaws and original restoration. part company and redesigning those flaws create a more quality end product. any thoughts?? enjoy your labor day
