Does anyone have any ideas on how to ventilate radon from a basement? I have a 1950’s home appx 2200sf and am having a radon test this saturday, in the event it comes back positive is there anyway to vent out the gas?

The most common remediation is to cut a 6" hole in the floor slab, scoop out a cavity, backfill with gravel, and then use a small ducted fan to pull a vacuum under the slab from that cavity. This keeps the radon from entering the basement and the fan exhausts whatever it collects through a pipe outside the house. Every situation is different though and you many need a different approach.
The quick 24 or 48 hour radon tests are not very accurate and their main use is to show gross hazards. If the results you get from the lab show less than 10 pCi/l you may want to run a second, long-term test of at least six months and get a more accurate fix on the problem. The EPA limit is set at 4 pCi/l, but other research shows that levels as high as 20 pCi/l pose no significant health risk for non-smokers.
Hey thanks alot, this type of info helps me out quite a bit...
