a couple of months ago I was doing mostly interior work, and there was hardly a drop of rain
Now that I have pretty much only outside work, it seems like its raining every other day
I’m gettin’ tired of being wet and muddy

Just got back from a trip to New England. Had an awesome time but was surprised by the rain. 3 days out of 10 with serious showers.
Glad to be home where it won't rain till at least sept., only problem I gotta work :^)
No complaints about back east though, I'd forgotten how beautiful it is there.
You must have been here during the dry spell. It seems like it's been averaging more like 5 or 6 out of 10 days with rain.
Mike
Send it west. Been pretty dry in IL. And Cap was talking about TX having a dry spell.

I'm regretting a bit that I didn't start my house project last summer when it was dry. We just started framing our own home & I'm lucky to get 4 dry days a week.
I'm planning to take a week off from work sometime to get it dried in, but I don't want to waste my vacation only to have it rain half the time.
You could possibly waste your vacation by having it rain all the time, instead.
Hang in there - looks like the remnants of Dennis are scheduled to hit you round 'bout Tuesday evening.
"... looks like the remnants of Dennis are scheduled to hit you round 'bout Tuesday evening."
That's what I'm hoping. And for 2 reasons.
First - We need rain badly. The corn is tasseling, and needs rain to make the ears fill out.
Second - A couple of days of rains during the week will send all the framers home and get 'em off my back a little.
Heck, it's so dry here I got a letter from Mom the other day, and the stamp was held on with a paper clip.

Wow, what's growing corn look like?
Was funny, it rained at my house (1.4" per the glass), but only "trace" at the airport a mere 11.1 miles away. First time in 7 weeks.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Actually, the dry does have its plusses... Only mow the grass 1-2 a month instead of 1-2 times a week. Lot less humid, which for me makes 90 degrees more tolerable. Less bugs (specially skeeters).jt8

Looks like the rain isn't too far off. Here's the site I use for weather radar most of the time:http://www.wunderground.com/radar/station.asp?ID=LSX19&loop=&clutter=1

This is one of our weather links. Sometimes takes a minute to load...and you have to scroll down to see the map, but I like the animation. Big swirling mass of green heading this way. Just closed the sunroof.

I use that site too. But like you said - Getting it to load is sometimes challenging. Especially on a dialup.I'm a little concerned that that "big swirling mass of green" has stalled out.

Yeah, it does look like its pushing more to the SW of us. Kinda dying out the closer it gets.jt8

Looks like it's going to go a bit NE of me, but I'm still trying to will it this way.
Yeah, it's so dry here in MO all my ponds are drying up, thankfully we have 6 or so days of rain/thunderstorms predicted. If we don't get it I'll have a lot of thirsty cattle .
We have been losing time and getting wet for weeks. It has been disappointing, with rain or showers Monday thru Friday, and beautiful dry weekends.
It looks like we have finally gotten a small reversal. We only lost a few hours last week to wetness, and it looks like now it will rain all day today, Saturday, and most of tomorrow, then dry up for Monday.
I never looked forward to wet weekends before, but now that we need dry for outside work, to me it seems the weekend rain improves the odds for dry workdays.Gene Davis, Davis Housewrights, Inc., Lake Placid, NY
here in nh its been raining so much that the lumber is starting to grow leaves
It's so dry here in Ohio, the trees are bribing the dogs, the fish are knocking on the door, askin' for a drink of water, and the cows are giving evaporated milk.
Pretty durn dry I tell you. The dust is getting bad.
I started a new house frame during the middle of last week. 4500 sqft +/-.
We've got the first deck on and first floor walls up..... that's it.
'Nuff said.
We actually had two decent days this week though and I had a stomach flu for both of them. Made it until about noon time both days and had to split on the guys. Feelin' better today, but guess what....... yep it's pouring again.
Waaaaaayyyy toooo much time on my hands. I'm driving myself frickin' crazy.
I know what ya mean.
today I met my trash guy on my latest job about 10:30. He picked up the junk, I paid him. Talked to the HO for a bit.
Ran down to the tool store to pick up my Milwaukee RA drill they fixed, and hung around there awhile.
Came home, had lunch, logged onto BT for awhile, and decided to go see the new Fantastic 4 movie.
Now I'm home again, its only 5:15, and I don't know what to do. Can't cut the grass; its soaking wet (again) .
Just gonna wait for my wife to get home so I can drive her nuts.
I'm gettin' tired of being wet and muddy
Just mail it, COD, to Central Texas . . . somebody'll pay the postage.
The filed corn is dead, and any non-early bolling cotton is not going to finish leafing out, let alone boll.
If I could figger out a way to get it to you, I would.
Guess I should be greatful for what I got, huh?

Well, we all should--that's one of those tougher things in life, too.Occupational hazard of my occupation not being around (sorry Bubba)
Send some this way! Its been as dry as a Popcorn Fart in July around here.
it rain everyday here at 3pm. it will be that way till sept. Its like this every year, and now we have an hurricane coming.
For the record.....
my basement just started leaking. We moved in back in January... no mention of the leaky basement. At least I've got something to do now. When I'm finished with the wet-vac I'm gonna start the ark in the backyard.
A number of years ago, my SIL and her family in Michigan had an addition put on their house. the original part was on a slab, but they decided that they wanted a basement on the new part for storage and stuff.
Well, they built in one of the driest summers on record. The following year, when the rainfall got back to normal, they found out that the only way to keep the basement dry was to run a sump pump 24/7. And this thing does run that much.
good luck with your basement.
Bummer. I get to do basements in the summer and rooves in the winter. Go figure.
cheers

I'll trade ya. We finally had about 3/8" of rain yesterday. First serious amount in ten weeks or so.

Boarded up at 5:45 this AM...got the generator ready, gassed up the chainsaw. Was down at Mon Luis Island yesterday fixing a set of bulkhead stairs--the tide rose a foot in about 30 minutes, and man those waves were comin' in hard!
