Have any of you had any experience mud-jacking a chimney that has settled out of plumb back into plumb? If you have done this anywhere in the northeast could you recommend a contractor who does and understands mud-jacking and grouting?

Probably 8 years ago I had a customer referred to me with a chimney on an outside wall leaning away from the house. chimney had actuall pulled about 3 inches away from the house at the roof/chimney intersection seperating the flashing etc.
I suggested to the customer the same operation YOU are now looking at.
I believe the company that quite successfully did the work was A-1 Concrete Leveling.
I am in Akron, Ohio-if that is any help. customer was quite pleased with the work---cost was not as horrifying as you might imagine.
Best of luck to you, stephen
