I need some Square D QO GFI circuit breakers. (3) 20A SP, (1) 15A SP, (1) 20A DP
I found some refurbished units online that are quite cheaper than new. Can I trust them?
New knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.

No clue, but it's the weirdest idea I've seen today.
Refurbished from what? Old panel upgrades?
Returns from HD?
Good luck, Joe H
why would you want to buy a rebuilt breaker when new ones are still manufactured ?
aside from $$ how much is your life worth ?
I would say no to the rebuilt stuff or just use GFI receptacles

. . . . . . . .
"Refurbished" circuit breakers?????????
On-line???????
Just how much savings do you net on a miniscule quantity of low priced items after including shipping and handling?
I don't think so.
Probably those conterfieit SqD breakers we heard about.
Jim
Here's an example of what I'm talking about:
http://www.relectric.com/Store/Circuit-Breakers/QO120GFI
The site looks legit. I just don't know if the price is worth the risk. You know what they say..."penny wise, pound foolish".New knowledge is priceless.
Used knowledge is even more valuable.
I followed your link to Relectric site.
The sales pitch, testing, insurance, etc all sounded good.
Then I found this statement:
"Relectric Supply is a surplus wholesale supplier and is not necessarily an authorized distributor for Square D products."
That did not sound so good, neither did a vague reference to Relectric buying "outside" of normal channels. Wunner what that means - Hecho en China?
But I perservered and priced the 3 - 20A SP breakers @ $5. = 15.00; 1 - 15A SP = $ 5. = $5.00. The 20A 240 breaker I could not find listed as refurbished or "new surplus".
This would total your order to $ 20. + "Orders under $ 100. have a $ 10. handling fee." Bringing the price of 3 - 20A + 1 - 15A to $ 30. and you still have to go somewhere else to get your 20A 240 breaker.
Checked at the local HD tonight while picking up some other stuff.
20A SP = $6.47 ; 15A SP = $6.47 ; 20A DP = $ 15.47 - All Square D QO style breakers.
(3 x 6.47) + (1 x 6.47) = $ 25.88, or in other words, $ 4.12 cheaper than the end cost of the "refurbished" breakers.
HD had QO, 240v breakers in stock 15a, 20a, 25a, 30a, 40a, 50a and 60a -- your choice of sizes, all priced at $ 15.47 each.
Total cost of your order 3-20a + 1-15a + 1-20a 240 at HD = $ 41.35
I would not be buying these "refurbished" breakers for econimic reasons alone - they might be the hottest thing since sliced bread - but I don't know or trust them.
I am not a huge fan of HD, that is the first supplier I happened to visit. Local electrical house might beat them price wise - not uncommon.

Never underestimate the value of a sharp pencil or good light.

Refurbished Equipment
Refurbished is not the same as Used - All of our products undergo multi-stage quality checks, both externally and internally (when applicable). Further, Relectric utilizes state-of-the-art digital testing equipment, accurate to the .01 Amp and .001 second. That's why we guarantee our refurbished products "Safe-as-New". All of our refurbished products are insurance-backed and carry a rock-solid Relectric Warranty.
Facts about buying refurbished.
Now, I could be wrong, but there is no mention of anything done to "Refurbish" a damn thing, just testing whatever it is they are selling.
As to your question "Can I trust them?" I'd say no.
