I have tub & tile caulk that was applied everywhere in a rather haphazard fashion. If any caulk made it to the actual crack, it appears to just be luck on the part of the applicator. The tub is cast iron and the walls are ceramic tile. Is there a better way to remove this caulk than a single edge razor blade? Maybe, some type of chemical cleaner?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It should actually come off fairly easily if you can get behind it with a putty knife. I usually use a painters 6 in 1 tool and the pointed end. I may not lean to that here with the risk of gouging something up though. A cheap, stiff plastic 1 inch putty knife could do the trick, and you could even lick it across a belt sander to make more of a chisel edge on it. The razor tends to make lots of little pieces, if you can get a run started, you could be forutnate enough to just pull the majority of it off if you move slowly. Not aware of any chemicals to eat silicone. Acetone might, but that could cause other issues on the tile glazing. Not sure on that one either.
There was talk some time ago in a thread about Dow Corning Cleaner and Surface Prep Solvent, and 3M Caulk Remover as chemicals that would soften up silicone. Haven't tried either myself. What has worked for me is to get as much of it up by using a razor and then using goo gone for the remaining traces. Had to scrub quite a bit, so the next time I'm going to try one of the caulk removers. Anyone had any luck with them?
