Replacing chuck pin on P-C recipro saw

My son gave me his P-C recipro saw, with the tool-free chuck, because he’s stepped up to a Milwaukee (since he uses it for a living, and I’m a weekend warrior, I’m tamping down the envy). But: the internal pin that engages the blade has sheared off. How do you get that chuck apart to replace it?

I do not know the specific answer to your question, what I will suggest is calling porter cables 800 customer service number (888) 848-5175.
If you have the model number of the saw they will be able to send you an exploded diagram and parts listso you can figure out exactly how to take it apart and which parts to order.
you may be able to find the same infromation at their website http://www.portercable.com but I've never looked myself
I've always found their customer service to be top notch. There may also be a local PC service center near you if you wanted to bring the tool in and have it repaired.

Good luck
You should be able to get an exploded parts diagram and order parts at dewaltservicenet.com (Dewalt and PC share ownership and service network now). After you log on just enter the part number of the saw.
