I have seen references from certain individuals who claim to have reported abusive messages (usually about themselves) to the forum moderator. How do you do that? I have come across a message (not from a regular) that I don’t think belongs and would like to have it checked. I know the moderator is busy eating donuts and can’t read all the messages…
Do it right, or do it twice.

At the bottom of that message, there is an "options" link. As you move your mouse over it, even without clicking, a list will/should pop up allowing you to do a variety of tasks, like ignore author, bookmark the message, etc. One of the options is "Report Violation". Though I'm not sure if it reports it to Taunton/Brian P., or to Prospero.
If everything seems to be going well, you've obviously overlooked something.
I'd go the thread where Brian P had talked about his article on caulk, only because thats one I know he has particapated in off the top of my head. Go to his profile and send him an e-mail from there.
Not willing to give us a clue where we can find this nasty message are you??? *G*
Curiousity killed the cat I guess...

There is a message in the reader classified section #28987.1 titled Manage Your Money that sure looks like an advertisement for a dubious product. Could be wrong, but I just got a feeling that it's one of those matchbook-ad products.Do it right, or do it twice.
Managing your Money (MyM) is a product like Quicken, that handles personal finances. The product is what it is. The "retailer" of the product is a different matter. If your bank advertises "on line banking," odds are that they are using MyM if they are not using Quicken (the bank will often download you the software for free). I learned this the hard way having two different banks <g>. I'm back to where I started, using Quattro Pro spreadsheets.
Well, it's gone now. When a bona fide poster/member informs the rest of us of a suitable product, that's ok. But this one gave no clue as to why we would want it. The entire message was a link and one sentence, something like "For anybody who spends money, learn the myssssssteries of wealth". Sounds like snake oil to me. Or a cure for baldness, pms and vinyl siding applied with sheetrock screws.Do it right, or do it twice.
PMS... Isn't that short for Punish My Spouse?
BTW, MYM as a retail product has been gone for years.
It was later bought by a group of banks to provide as dedicated bank interface as you indicated.
That group had problems with it, and that is why it was sold in the first place. I believe that they are now using customized version of Quicken.
However, there is another Mind your Money product that is for stock tracking.
LOL--shows how "in touch" I've been.
Sometimes the old ways are the best ways; except for when they aren't <grin>. I've heard rumors about a version of Quicken for the PDA, and also of a check printer for PDA. Now, that, might be some technology I'd adopt. The convenience of a printed "official" check, even in the field, and the data can then be synchronized in one go. (Ok, I'll admit it, I had a mental image of standing by the site trailer on Friday, printing the checks 'right there' . . . )
I am still using Quicken for Dos, about a 1995 version. But I have been paying bills electronically with it, and earlier versions, since 1989.
Unfortunaley I just notice that Checkfree is cutting off the dailup service this month and I will have to upgrade to the current windows version of Quicken that uses the internet to send the data.
BTW, there is Pocket Quicken that runs on a PDA. It is not made by Intuit any more, but is still will synch with Quicken.

Ok, that's probably what I heard about. I've resisted the PDA for a while (I have enough technology to keep track of . . . :)).
The new Tablet PC technology is starting to catch my attention. (Tablet PCs are notebook-sized, but instead of a flip-up screen, have a screen on the outside like a PDA--with the size comes performance a PDA can't match). Add in some of the new wireless (satelite) or broadband (GHz transimission) technology, and there are the glimmerings of a great new tool for the job site. How good? Depends on who you ask. Having a wireless link to the drawings on the project web page could be cool. Being able to post email & text (to cell phone) messages while on site might also be cool.
