How is the new plumb/square laser performing? What is the accuracy like? Should I plunk down the change for a PLS 5 instead?

Count me in on this discussion. With warmer weather coming, I am planning on completing the plastic coating of my house with the aid of a laser. So what do you guys use? How well do they work?

I Purchased a PLS5 after trying it at a trade show last summer. My crew and I love it, Where's the laser, Get the laser, This thing is awesome! We are custom carpentry contractors doing new homes and additions and have had no problem finding plenty of new uses for it. Plumbing up 18'-6" balloon walls ? ( or higher ).set the laser down, measure to the dot on the floor and catch it at the top plate, and you are set. Squaring up a chopped up foundation ? Use it as an 80' framing square. Plumbing round columns has never been easier.
The accuracy is within 1/8" @ 100' compared to 1/4" @ 70" for the new robo brand. You'll have to decide for yourself how much accuracy you want to pay for.

...........being an old plumb bob guy.. and lugging my builder transit around for 25 years...
we love the PL3...so the PL5 would probably be even better..
the Robo is a little more specialized.. I had to decide between the robo and the square/plumb PL3...if we were doing more dropped ceilings or needed a continuous level line I would probably have got the Robo....
I would guess that our NEXT laser would be a Robo.. but our first one was a laser level (24" with a tripod mount that I could use on my transit legs)..and the next one was the one we like....
The PL3 was one of those..."how did we ever get along without this" type of tools
Luckily my tool dealer, (Quaker Lane) was able to demo both for me or I would have bought the Robo.....
Anyone want to buy a great K&E Builder's Transit ????
