I’m doing a house clean-out and will need a roll-off container. The container truck will have to back the truck down a long driveway which will not be a problem. The potential problem is the overhead power lines which run from the street to the house and are centered over the driveway. The truck may hit the power lines when it tilts up to roll the container off and on. What to do?

Do your home work with measuring the line and talking to the peeps that supply the truck. Surely they can tell you if it 'll fly?
All the service/entry cable set ups I've observed are insulated cable. I've seen people raise them a foot or so temporarily with a fiberglass extension ladder raised up under the wire but I stop short of advising that. "Here, hold my beer will ya....."
Also here the power co. will take your entry cable down, cutting it at the house, free of charge if you must cut a tree or some such need. Can't guess if your situation would move them.
oldhand,
Thank you for your response.
There are a few different types of storage container. I had a similar problem and found a unit called a COW (container on wheels) We were able to offload the container at the front of our house and then simply push it a 100ft to the rear near our garage,
Problem solved. I hired a small company to clean out the house, etc. They will take care of getting the container. I was going to do the whole job myself but their cost to do it all is quite reasonable and less than what I would have been willing to pay.
