I had a bad wind storm came through here last weekend, and it blew off all the rolled roofing on the sunroom (24×32)w/ 1/12 pitch. my insurance adjuster came out when I wasn’t home and my rottweiller wouldn’t let him out of the car.(good boy!!) He called later and told us to get estimates. My question is are we going to be in the same ballpark if I get a torch down roof professionly done -vs- setting trusses and repitching the roof?? there is no reason it couldn’t be repitched to at least a 4/12.
I live in N.E Ohio thanks Stan

stan, I'm a building and roofing contractor in NE Ohio, and I can tell you, you can't get materials for a truss roof system for the cost of a torch down roof, let alone labor. It's an excellent idea however, and I reccomend it highly both for looks and function. Maybe you could apply the insurance money for flat roof to help offset the truss roof?
