PC D handle model 690. Router would go on and off while using it. Finally stopped altogether. Replaced the brushes and worked for a couple of minutes. Stopped working agian. Tested switches and cord both supply power to the router. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks.

Dust in the switch, or a broken wire in the cord. The cord was probably in the right position when you tested it. Buy a new cord, they are cheap.

Cord was the problem. Thanks to you and the others who responded.

I have the same router. There's something wrong in my D handle plug... works, won't work, works, won't work...
I've one of those ball bungee things wrapped around the whole mess that will keep it working until I have to unplug it to unscrew the body to change bits.
New D handle costs $65... I love the router, but have been too scattered to really fix it for 10 years<G>

My PC lam trim router was doing that...I just blew out the switch using the air gun attached to my compressor...works fine now.
