John, Where I live, building saunas is a fine art form. There is so much to discuss that I really recommend you look for some good books on the subject if you haven't done so already. I do have two tips for you. Locate it next to a lake if possible and don't set screws or nails flush with the top of the seats!
*I built my sauna with help from Sunset's book, Spas, Hot Tubs and Home Saunas. Most home building centers will have it.
*I also used the Sunset book to design my sauna; it's a detached building 7' by 12' with a small entrance and a 6' by 6' (inside) sauna. One thing that I really like about it is the 2' by 4' window that I can look out of into the forest; this really helps with the claustrophobic nature of the small room. The sauna has been there for several years and no problems whatsoever with the window.Enjoy your sauna!
