I have a cellar and mechanical room in the basement where I do not want to use the same carpet used for the rest of the basement. I thought about using vinyl flooring, but I don’t particularly like the look of it. The surface is bare concrete right now (reasonably clean, it’s a new construction)
I was thinking of using one of those concrete sealers/solid stains that are used for industrial flooring or garages. Given there’s going to be only very light foot traffic, I can probably avoid using the more expensive epoxy formulas, and I don’t need the anti-skid variety.
Lowes and Home Depot sell their brands (Valspar and Behr), and they are reasonably cheap. Most any paint store also sells a similar product under their brand.
Any reccommendation from the fine folks in this forum? Should I go epoxy or the solid color stain. Any other suggestion on how to finish a concrete floor?

Paint works well, no need to go with epoxy unless the floor is taking some serious abuse. Benjamin Moore Porch & Floor latex has worked for me.
