7/16" OSB $12.99
1/2" 3ply $13.99
1/2" 4ply $16.79
5/8" $17.79
3/4" $23.27
Thats odd Ralph...we used to send back the 1/2" cdx unless it was 5 ply!
Now...they're selling you 3 ply and yet some carpenters will tell you that it's better than osb!
Thats funny.
blue FRAMING ADVICE ALERT!!!! DON'T TAKE ANY FRAMING ADVICE FROM ME. I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IF YOU WANT GOOD FRAMING ADVICE, JUST ASK GABE. DON'T ASK ANYONE ELSE....JUST ASK GABE! REMEMBER, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FRAMING...I JUST BS ABOUT IT.
END OF ALERT!
Yeah. I remember 5-ply.
Nowadays if you're looking for 5-ply you have to pay for cabinet grade. 4-ply is what is available. 3-ply if you're really into cheap and wavy.
We used to get a great brand of Canadien 5 ply called Potlacth. It was awesome stuff, light, solid and strong.
They closed a few years ago and I haven't seen another decent 1/2" ply. The junk they send now rolls up into toilet tubes overnight.

I thought you might be talking about the 50 mph wind today...
drove to the nearest small town and got a glimpse of the volunteers working on the church roof - trying to roll out and secure felt - into town, run errand, back out 20 minutes later, they were still working on the same run...don't think they got much done today...
going to see your namesake next wednesday night - hope he has a good evening -
