Me and my brothers tore off and installed a new roof on my bunbalow 8 years ago. When I look up at the roof I see a 2′ x 2′ bubble where the shingles are raised up. I have also noticed in one spot it looks like a 6′ long section of shingles are seperating, the gap between the next to it has grown. Any ideas why this is happening? and how to fix? House built in 1941 and I live in Michigan. Thanks in advance.

If they're Certainteed save yourself the grief and just strip them off and reshingle now (or as soon as the pump handle is safe again).

the bubble soundslike the plywood is delaminating whgich is nothing to do with the shingles.
The cjhanging exposure sounds like shrinkage from heat. As long as they aren't cracking, curling, or cupping, and the nails are not exposed, it shouldn't be a problem, but if you want to try filing a claim against the manufacturer, dig out your receipts etc, and giver then a few calls to let the rep take a look at it.

Piffin has it right - if you were to go up on the roof that bubble will lift right off the roof deck (or whats left of it). On a positive note the undisturbed shingles are stiched together with the nails and it should not leak - at least for a while.
The plywood underneath is coming apart.
