Is it always best to remove shoe moulding before having a floor refinished? I understand it’s sometimes left on to avoid damage, but can’t imagine edges of floor would look as good as if removed first.
Are the renovator’s prybars (I think that’s what they’re called) best for removing shoe, or is starting with a 5-in-1 or putty knife and then using a small flat bar good enough? Any advice? Thanks.

I would definatly remove it. Putty knife to remove the old caulk or overlap of stain and paint and then a small flat bar to pop it off with.
We are all in this together.
