Saturday I have a client that wants me to replace an old shower head.
She said she did not want a one with a soft spray.
And then she said BTW can you fix the new shower that I had installed last year. The water in the tub is great, but the shower flow is poor.
Explained about the “water saver” heads.
I will probably end up removing or drilling the orfice.
But does anyone know of any brands/types that I will be able to get at Lowes/HD that have good pressure.

Do those rain heads give a good pressure? I alway thought that they were more of a light pressure, if that is a good way to describe them. The last shower head I modified did not have a removable disc, but rather had to drill it..

Wise guy, eh?I actually use one of these -- really.Fill it with water, and set it on your Coleman stove. Great for camping with the kids!If someone happens to walk by while you're spraying the kids down, mutter something about the G-D bugs. Gets great reactions!Aitchkay
I've been happy with Speakman. Believe I bought a couple from Lowes.

Yes, I saw them at Lowes.Kind of expensive for what you get. The basic model was $35 and just had the jets but you could adjust them in and out for different size patterns. Then they had the Hotel model. It was cheaper, but a huge hunk of plastic and had all of the different modes..
William the Geezer, the sequel to Billy the Kid - Shoe
I agree, they aren't cheap. But it was worth the money for us. Worked much better than the fancy pulsing ones we've had. We bought my parents one as a gift one year and they were happy with it, as well.
Edit: we bought the basic model, not the plastic type.

Did you take out the restrictor?I took the one out of the hall bath. That was a remodel this year with which I think was a standard bath set with valve, spout, and shower head. No one like to use it because of the low water flow. She liked it after I removed the restrictor. But I installed the Speakman in the MB as it is to see how she liked it. I will be back to Tuesday to finish up so I an remove it them. But it is a little different type. But it did see to have a good spray as is..

I installed them as they came out of the package.
Let me know how it works out.

How fast do ya need one?
You like this one?
You can ask Gabe or DocKelly I sent them this style as well.
I think I have about 6 of them left, head only , no arm.
I am going over there tomorrow. But the call was orginally an emergency 2 days ago with the DG which in turn had blocked the drainline. And had to get a plumber with a powersnake to open the drain. And in the meantime trying to find the blockage I had her flush the toilet in next to the kitchen. And I saw water dripping. So I have a wax ring to replace. And then some while you are here she has a new basin faucet to replace. And while you are at it replace the show. And BTW, BTW, can you do anything about the shower in the new bathroom. But if there are good reasons I could probably wait on it..

The interesting thing I found with those round shower heads is.....
in my other two bathrooms I have shower heads like you describe...where it comes out really really strong but since i installed those round headed shower heads in the last bathroom I did it's the only shower I use now. It's something about how the water hits you that for me......is way more satisfying than any other type shower head I've ever tried. Sorta came as a surprise to me b/c I mainly bought it b/c it was inexpensive and looked REALLY stylish. My wife feels the same way...it's the only shower in the house she uses now too.
Sorta feels like being under a warm waterfalls.

I will talk to here about what kind of shower "experience" that she is looking for..

Thats really a better way to look at it. I think most people do always ask about the pressure it blasts out on you at.....rather than the "experience" they really want.
The customer I'm doing a shower for now bought one of those round heads I'll be installing as soon as the tile is done. I won't even begin to tell you what the shower head alone cost him. It has a 16" circumference and I have it coming down from the ceiling. The shower also will have a hand held for the "pressure experience".

"Young Wiliiam"You need to get new glasses, youngin. I bounced baby piffin on my knee.On Hometime they did a shower that beside the main shower head it had a 4 or head mounted in the ceiling. They where flat emitters and fit in the space of a 6x6 tile. But they did tilt to direct the water. And a a number of body sprays. Might have been a couple of others also. .

That looked like what they used on the ceiling.Don't remember, but I think that they used more nozzle looking body sprays on the walls..

Here it is.http://www.hometime.com/TV/pastshow/pastshows/syndication/2008/s62526blah_bathrooms.htmAnd I don't think that shows all of it.I think that there is a his and hers wall.As you can see they have both a fixed head and one on a hose..

The reason I asked how fast is, I could sell her one of these, but I couldn't get it in the mail until Monday.
I can let em go for 30 bucks.
I hear this all the time. People with 35# of water pressure want a shower that will blast them out of the bathroom!
Basically, any showerhead with big holes is not going to give you a stiff shower spray unless you have one heck of a lot of pressure behind it.
Speakman will give you a really nice strong spray at a very good price.
The rainhead will give a very gentle flow.
Same as Mistah Andy's post, I have a large rainhead coming out of my ceiling and a wall-mounted handheld with vari-spray head on...the wall.
We use them both. The wall head for regular showering, the rain for regular showering and for chill-time.
Biggest gripe people have with rainheads is for rinsing long hair. The gentle "rain" takes a while to rinse shampoo/conditioner for those with long/thick hair.
I'd never ever advocate someone having only a rainhead as their only shower head in the shower.
If I ever get around to doing my shower that is what I want to do. A rain shower along with a handheld on a rod along with a diverter valve to use either or both..
William the Geezer, the sequel to Billy the Kid - Shoe
Bill, I also plumbed them on separate supply valves. My wife and I both like running the rainhead at a different water temp than the wall-mounted hand held.
