I have Dryvit on half of my house and am having problems with it on the north side of the house that doesn’t get enough sun (trees etc.) In hindsight, I wouldn’t have used it, but now I have to change it. Three quarters of my house is real stone and I am looking into using some kind of siding. I have read lots of articles on the subject but I need some suggestions. Is Cement siding the way to go or would wood siding be better? Any suggestions and the reasoning for such suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

MAybe fiber cement (hardie plank) less porous than wood
Thanks for your suggestion. How is that cement stuff in the cold winters? Doesn't it crack in the cold? I know it is more difficult to apply and handle. Any help would be great!
