Am considering installing a Honeywell Aquatrol AQ2000 control unit on a couple of oil fired hot water baseboard systems in multifamilies I own in Maine. Oil costs are killing me, and this may ease the pain.
Anyone out there have opinions on these?

What are they suppose to do and how are they suppose to do it.

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
Was hoping the respondents would know. But there is an outdoor probe to allow heating with cooler water on balmier days. And I am led to understand that I can lock out T-stats at my settings in individual apartments. The oil sales guy says I can achieve 20-30 percent savings, which at $1000 to install would give me an almost immediate payback (First year).I am attracted by savings this substantial, at over 3 bucks a gallon!
Like everything else, correct answer is it depends.
Savings depend on where the water temp is normally kept, what is the winter like etc.
No experience yet with the honeywell, but tekmar is the same principal. tekmar claims a minimum savings of 10% if the current water temp is maintained at 180. 20% should be realistic.
All bets are off if they like to sleep with the window open.
Check with a good boiler company for an installed price on a tekmar and the honeywell.
Probably save more by putting the money into tightening the building envelope. (find and seal the cracks)
