IBM showcases new line of Internet-connected power tools
FISHKILL, NY– Following IBM’s successful unveiling of a new Internet appliance, the company is reportedly considering a new class of power tools — such as drills and saws — that can communicate via the Internet. The new tools would be cordless and could, for example, look up the nearest hospital’s Web page in the event that a user lops off an appendage or drills a hole in his or her hand.
Enraged Apple attorneys reportedly plan to sue IBM over the use of the word “tools” as soon as the courts resolve the patent dispute over whether Amazon.com owns the concept of tools.
