**Solid Surface Pricing-In Left Field?**
I’m mounting a very plain white vessel on a very small countertop in a very small bathroom. So small, in fact, that material left over from a standard sink cutout would do the trick.
So, I call a couple of places to see what I could pick up. Size is 20″ deep by 26″ wide with an 8″ radius in the front left corner and a simple round over treatment on the two sides including the radius. Oh, and two holes.
First shop said if they have a piece in stock with your color – about $130. If he had to order a half sheet it jumps the price to about $450. Of course, my color wasn’t in stock. My color is plain white.
Second shop said about $850 – because the job was so labor intensive.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T
MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE
DUCT TAPE.
Second shop obviously doesn't want the business, and is pricing it accordingly. First shop seems a little high, but realistic. I had a 24 x 24 sink with cut out made a few weeks ago, which ran about $400.
On the other hand, why not get a slab and do it yourself? Charge what the shop would and pocket the difference.
