Source for cloth covered air line hose
Does anybody know of a source for cloth covered air line hose? I have some that is 20 plus years old, and have seen it from time to time, and want to pick up a healthy length to make some whips up with, but am having no luck finding it anywhere. I’ve checked all the major industrial suppliers to no avail.
Basically nothing more than thin wall rubber, with a cloth exterior braid. (see pic). Very flexible, and way better for air tools than the usual quick connect at the tool to the more rigid rubber or PVC hose.
Anyways, if someone knows were to find it, ‘be appreciated.

Yours is the first I've seen since I got mine with a Sears compressor - probably about 20 years ago, too. You might want to try a hose & rubber specialty supplier. (I assume you've tried McMaster, Grainger, MSC, Travers, J&L, etc.)
Here in SW VA, I'd try Shenandoah Industrial Rubber in Roanoke. If you don't have any luck, let me know and I'll try to take mine by there to see if they can match it.

What's next, your unmarried daughter looks just like my wife?LOL, and you knew I was changin' religions?
Ralph,
.......................Yes.
So when is GB passing through next? Or do I have to wait till Rhode Fest?
Really, seems to be a product Sears sold 20 years ago, as mine came with a compressor I bought well, 20 years ago from Sears. You still see it all over the place in factories used as whips for air powered tools, and can't for the life of me find it anywhere though.
Great product for the right application.
Any leads?

As far as I have been able to determine, this item is no longer manufactured. That might be inaccurate.
I have 50', do you really want it? It is slighty used.
No charge if you wait 'til Rhodefest but I expect shipping for such a light item would not be much. GB won't be back before Christmas.

Ralph,
Honestly I don't need it that badly, just surprised NOBODY seems to carry it anymore, as I still see it in many factories on air tools that get moved around a lot, ie. DA's, small angle grinder's and such.
I still have a two six foot lengths I get by with, just wanted to convert over a bunch of other tools to that system.
BTW, do you like cheese or smoked meats?

try searching in the Thomas Register (thomasregister.com?) it is THE source for anything and everything manufactured, from jack stands to jock straps.

Try your local [rope] climbing store. There is a product available that is basically a nylon sheathe - used to put over lead ropes that will be used in rocky conditions to prevent abrasion.
While not cloth, it may give you the same effect.
