I’m building a home for my family in Thousand Oaks, CA. I will be doing all the concrete work, framing, siding, carpentry etc… myself. Pricing for HVAC and electric contractors seems reasonable. I have got two prices for plumbing that seem very high. This is a 2300 S.F. 2.5 bath home. Does anyone know what I should pay ballpark per fixture in this part of CA? Maybe I’m out of touch with pricing or perhaps materials have gone up. Thanks for any help.

Time to take up another trade, I'd say. Learning to plumb new work isn't all that hard, just takes some patience. You can start by getting a copy of the "Uniform Plumbing Code Illustrated Training Manual". Available new and used on Amazon.com. My copy is right here on my desk.
5 to 8 years ago, I used many S. California plumbers.
In fact, I don't believe there is anyplace on earth that has more plumbers per capita than S. Cal.
Then, I paid $60 per hour.
What have you got for estimates so far Dan?
