speaker in bathroom – hardwiring to bluetooth amp
Hope you guys can help here and that my explanation is clear. Please ask any clarifying questions if it isn’t.
I’m installing this speaker in my shower:

I’m going to be using this amp (or something like this) to control it via bluetooth.
https://www.amazon.com/TNP-Bluetoot…d=1&keywords=B07GKXGCZ1&qid=1628020002&sr=8-1
It will be installed into a 4 gang box that’s connected to 120v. See Picture.
The amp uses 12V. It comes with an transformer/plug that converts the 120v to 12v, but then i need to plug this into an outlet which is not a clean look for me. I’ve seen others have hard wired the controller using a separate transformer. I purchased this transformer:
Amazon.com: COOLWEST Transformer Driver Power Supply 60W 12V for LED Strip Lights and G4, MR11, MR16 Light Bulbs: Kitchen & Dining
I’d love to hard-wire the amp. Problem I have is where to put the transformer and make the connections Right now I have 120v available in the 4 gang box. The purchased transformer does not fit into the box. I’d like to hide the transformer somehow but b/c 120v wires go into the transformer, I’d bet that it’s not allowable. I could put the transformer into the attic which is accessible, but I’m concerned with heat (and therefore, fire) as well as code. I could put it attached to the joist right near the speaker which would still make it accessible if I need to get it by removing the speaker.
So, 12v power needs to come from the transformer to the amp. 120v is in the 4 gang box. I’d take the 120v out of the box and up into the attic (or near the speaker), connect it to the transformer, and then 12v wire would go from the transformer back to the 4 gang box.
Does this make sense? Any ideas?
Thank you.
