i’m about to embark upon rebuilding my ‘full length of the house’ upper deck, and am seeking advice on procuring and working with braided stainless cable for the safety rail.
presume i’m using powder coated 3/16 angle iron for the posts.
i think vinyl-coated is bad, because the vinyl starts to look shabby way before the metal parts.
materials are available from the boat supply mafia if i’m dumb enough to pay their markups,
but where would i find the cable and hardware wholesale? (Portland OR)
what gauges and types work best?
any special techniques for pulling and tensioning through?
do i pull it around the corners or lace up each plane seperately? (3 outside corners)
how much do i need to oversize the holes? does countersinking help?
