I read the other post on MS stands but wondered if the Hitachi stand at Lowes was good enough for government work. Or, would it be worth ordering one on the net that had wheels.
I have a Delta 36-412 MS, good but big and bulky and would like a stand that permanently attached and rolled in and out of the trailer.
Would like something similar for my Bosch 4000 tablesaw.

A lot of people got the HD Ridgid when they where on sale earlier for $99 and really like them.
I see they are on sale again, but for $150.
I paid $199 for the Ridgid MS stand and would gladly do it again. It has wheels on it and when folded up can be moved around like a standard hand truck. It has very solid construction and is a bit on the heavy side, but with the wheels this does not seem much of a problem.

I got the $99 StableMate Plus at HD. Using it for a stand for plate joining (with a special jig), not as a miter saw stand, but I've found it to be quite stable and sturdy. The support arms are a little difficult to adjust, but are reasonably rigid once adjusted.
Not something you'd put your $600 saw on, probably, but certainly good enough for a $250 saw, and it's lightweight, compact to store, folds easily, but stays open & rigid once set up.
I'd recommend it for a job-site unit for quickie jobs, where you don't want to lug around something big and heavy.
I have the Stablemate. I have my $500+ Makita sliding miter saw on it. It is stable and rocks! Of course I'm just a homeowner who does all of his own work. My only complaint with the stand is that it's pretty heavy...of course I've never compared it to other stands.
For $99, it's a great deal and worth the money. If I was a professional who had to lug and use a stand every day, I would probably go with the Dewalt or the Rigid. Both seem to just have better craftsmanship and the Rigid has wheels. At $200 for each, I just couldn't justify it for home use.
Ive had the Hitachi stand for a few months and like it a lot
it takes less than 2 minutes to set up, its very light and compact when folded
very sturdily built and very stable
its actually made by Truck Rack
caulking is not a piece of trim
I have both the Ridgid miter saw stand and the Ridgid Table saw stand and would recommend them both. I especially like the table saw stand.
Would never get the stablemate again. Set-up and stable isn't a problem. But EVERY nut/bolt/end brace has either disappeared or I managed to find it loose before loosing. As I travel with it, seems the vibrations just make it fall apart. Lock washers?? Probably a good idea, but too late. I keep leaving it out on job sites with the hope it will disappear! Just my 2 cents...BeckRe-Home Solutions Inc.
A little Loctite can work wonders.
Yea, you are right, only problem is I've lost so many of the parts i'm now just using it to rationalize buying perhaps the rigid stand....can always use a good rationization....yes? Thanks, BeckRe-Home Solutions Inc.
I've looked at them all and finally just built my own. Lighter- just as stable- cheaper--and has a solid top for glue, clamps, coping saw, etc.
I must admit I cheated when i built it because the heart of it - the locking legs- are a Stablemate sawhorse.
OK My 2 cents are up. Mike
Ps.. the pink background it the garage door and the saw isnt new --just taken care of..........Imerc are you out there? LOL
PSS If made to I would still pick one that the saw clamps to instead of perm.
Imerc pegged it...the saw is brandy new...unless you take the guard off every day and windex the inside of it! ; )
Peace
Whhhoooaaaa! stop it! It is not new--Do I have to take a picture of the invoice?
Can I help it if i just took it out of the box? J/K Have you even seen the DW 5000 series? Funny thing is is that every one looks at the background as much as the object in question.
Just ask Imerc about the pink cabinets ( I still smile about that one)
O.K. For the record it really is that old and , truth be I did clean it up for the picture. But only a DW sponge and a air compressor. No Windex.
Because I only cut trim with it and no wet stuff it just doesn't get gummed up like some of the saws i see framing. Mike
NOW LOOK AT CLOSELY AT THIS SAW!!!!!!!!
wht do you do wear ushers cloves when yur using it and nor even the first grain of saw dust to be see any place....

Even tho' the glass jars sitting overhead are sparkling there might be a wood shaving or two on the floor there that the DW sponge must have missed when he sent her out there.
However, I believe I have discovered the real reason for the overt cleanliness which occurs in his shop.
See the large pic, left of center, next to the garagedoor.
A chalk block.
A mere 10 foot away from his saw table is a pool table.
I mean who wants sawdust on their pooltable?
Mike,
LOL, okay, I'll back off...just looks too 'pristine' to be really used! I take care of my stuff too, but there is a limit! Have never done the windex thing. Going to bed now, gotta get up tomorrow and get my saws dirty! ; )
Peace
Don't ferget yur usher's gloves... and dont chip the paint job please...

Give the guy a break already.
He is not that anal.
If you look at the picture with the saw in the up position, you will see that there is a twist in the cord.
When I first looked at the picture I thought the same thing! And the stand looks like a piece of furniture. We try to do good work but frankly if we are building something to work with it generaly doesn't have that smooth shine to it and cabinet handles. LOL Nice piece though. DanT
all kidding aside if this is any indication of his work...
the man is good...
and the real shop is someplace else...

Thanks Imerc--I needed someone on my side. I do take my profession seriously and I strive to do the kind of work that allows my wife to stay home and care for our children ( of which there is to be one more very soon)
The garage is part car park --her's--part kids stuff --and temp storage for all my stuff . Seriously --the shop is no place for taking a picture--You can't stand back far enough anyways. Most of what I build is on site but I can manage a cabinet or two before I cant move.. that stand is all scrape wood , hardware, polyurathane, but I did buy the saw horse under it.
Thanks again Mike
I hear ya...but Mmike is good people...and I'm just pokin fun 4 the halibut!
Peace
I know....
just helping...

Right on.
And quietly and slowly the windex affair fades into the abyss know as the BT achives---I just hope the whole thing doesn't reappear in the FHB BT pages. LOL Peace to you all , Mike
M-Mike,
My lips are sealed...I think. ; )

Fergot to ask...

This is getting out of hand ---Im starting to have a good time at someone elses expence and then I realize that it is me.
I made this new stand as an up grade to the last after a borrower left it out and it got ruined.. After I built it in an afternoon out of scrap in the shop including the handel which is off an old shop vac I literaly slapped some left over polyurathane on it and put it to use.
After some digging I found the invoice and I lied--it is only 5 years old.( Will Imerc ever let me live it down). Well this has been fun and the next time I post a picture I will take it in the shop in the back where I am sure to have some more fun. lot of laughs Mike
MMike,
You have a good sense of humor...it was fun while it lasted. FYI, I have the Mak LS1013 that has never seen anything but indoor trim, and I baby that saw! Got the accessory fence on it @ $65 so too much $ involved to abuse it. Like you, I like to take care of my tools anyway. We make money together. I haven't squirted it with windex yet though.
I used a guys Dewalt to make a couple cuts the other day and the trigger stuck on...bet he got some sawdust in it. Now I know why you keep yours so clean...it's a safety issue! ; )
Peace
Ooohhhh so your the one who started the whole Windex thing.!!!!
He wasn't....

Thanks for gettin' my back bro...but I think I'm responsible for the windex comment. The heat's off bro. It's on me.
Peace
Enjoy...

Anybody have the Trac Rac/ Bosch stand? It looks like the Dewalt but has wheels, extensions, and other goodies. I need a new stand and this looks like the one....
I bought the Delta stand for my DW708. It's kind of a pain to assemble, and I modified and/or deleted some of the parts to better suit my needs, but the finished product is good. It's quite stable, easy to drag up and down stairs, and the end supports are very adjustable and work well. I too have the Bosch 4000, and Rousseau is now making a mobile stand for it that looks nice.
Ya, I put a Dewalt mitersaw on the Delta Kickstand also.
It would work well for rolling in and out of a trailer in that the wheels are of a good size and the legs on the wheel side can be folded up so you can push the thing like a wheelbarrel.
